In extreme cases, youth may be considered for temporary removal from their parent(s)/guardian(s) due to criminal charges and a lack of positive response to services. If a General Placement Order (GPO) is ordered by the court, the youth will be placed out of the home in order to receive services to facilitate reunification with parent(s)/guardian(s), or other permanency goals. Placement is a collaborative effort between the youth, family, court, probation officer, treatment providers, and other stakeholders.

If you have questions about a court case, contact 650-312-8816, and ask for the assigned Deputy Probation Officer.
